RESUMEN
This clinical report describes an unusual cause of nasal leakage in a patient with an obturator prosthesis who had previously undergone a maxillectomy. The diagnosis of gustatory rhinorrhea was determined by eliminating other possible causes of rhinitis. Gustatory rhinorrhea has been described as a complication of a maxillectomy. SUMMARY
Nasal discharge has been frequently reported in patients wearing obturator prostheses. This clinical report described a patient with an obturator complaining of an unusual rhinorrhea noticeable during eating. The diagnosis of gustatory rhinorrhea was reached by excluding other possible causes of rhinorrhea. Drilling a hole in the inferior surface of the opened specch bulb through the buccal flange helped in the redirection of nasal discharge back to the oropharynx and improved the situation.
